"Light Up the Night"

PARKLAND, FL- Think Hallmark Christmas movie. Think textbook warm, holiday community spirit. Think a year and a half after the worst school tragedy not just our area ever experienced —but the worst the country ever saw unfold.

Then think the spirit of these kids to help foster the magical healing power of the holiday season and create a STONEMAN DOUGLAS EAGLES pop up holiday dessert cafe at the uber magical  “LIGHT UP THE NIGHT” Winter Wonderland ALL FREE to the Community Holiday party.

Hosted by the Law Offices of Zimmerman & Frachtman, PA, the 7th ANNUAL “Light Up the Night” Charity event is as exciting to OUR area as the Rockefeller Plaza tree lighting is to NY!! This very local, home-grown event IS OUR COMMUNITY’S answer to what an old-fashioned evening of camaraderie, friendship, food, fun & killer LIVE music should be! All under the stars, all within a few minute drive (NW corner/State Rd 7 & Hillsboro Blvd), and all COST FREE to make us feel a bit more connected, at a time we could ALL use to feel more connected. This event is what the holidays are truly about: sharing.

Each year dozens of local restaurants, caterers, bakeries & others DONATE their food & fare, as their “give back” gift to this community to add to the magic of this night. A sold-out 50 vendor HOLIDAY SHOPPING VILLAGE of goods, games, crafts & homegrown fun!

An optional Silent & CHINESE auction raises awareness & funds for the inspirational ANTHONY RIZZO FAMILY FOUNDATION (Rizzo44.com) that supports those going through a cancer crisis both financially and emotionally, and the beloved IN JACOB’S SHOES, born from tragedy, blossoming to a legacy, IJS provides gently used & new shoes, school supplies & athletic gear to LOCAL families and children truly in need.

You can’t find more HEART than these two stellar charities.

And you can’t get more meaningful than seeing the Stoneman Douglas kids leading the way in showing that while this community was fractured by this pivotal tragedy, it does not define us, nor has it diminished the kind-hearted spirit that is Parkland. Call it old-fashioned community warmth, whatever you call it, just come experience it. The good time and energy is priceless.

If you can find it in your heart to help in some way, (sponsorships still available, prizes still needed!) Please call/text Mindi Rudan (954-554-9058) or email: catseleven@hotmail.com. Look for the event on FB (under DEC 5) & feel free to invite your friends. IT’S A MAGICAL NIGHT!!
