PARKLAND, FL- "Parkland Rising," a documentary that follows the lives of Parklanders in the wake of the Stoneman Douglas tragedy, has announced that it will premier on June 2, 2020. The date coincides with National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Day.
"Parkland Rising" is Directed and Produced by two-time Emmy Award winner Cheryl Horner McDonough and includes Executive Producers Katie Couric and will.i.am. The documentary follows a number of the students and family members directly impacted by the tragedy, and how the Parkland event spurred on a global response.
ABCinemaNow will live stream the premier of "Parkland Rising" at 5 p.m. on June 2 and show an encore on June 5. After the premier, Katie Couric will host and moderate a discussion with will.i.am, Manuel Oliver, Manju Bangalore, Greg Kahn, and Cheryl Horner McDonough. The film is also planned for a limited release in theaters.
