PARKLAND, FL- Households all over Parkland were busy getting kids ready for their first day of school. Hair was styled, backpacks were packed and photos were taken. Some kids were nervous and crying. Others were excited and smiling. Many parents felt heartbroken and melancholy to see their kids go to school, while others were joyously celebrating the event. The first day of school brings out all kinds of emotion in students and their parents.

Mayor Christine Hunschofsky, Congressman Ted Deutch, City Commissioner Bob Mayersohn and School Board Member Lori Alhadeff along with Parkland School Principals and teachers were on hand to greet students and families to help with the transition back to school.

TAPinto Parkland is wishing all the students, parents, teachers and staff a wonderful year full of learning, growing and new friendships.
