PARKLAND, FL- Two of the world's leading authorities on crisis and recovery will be hosting a free event for all families in the Stoneman Douglas school zone on Wednesday evening, March 4.

Dr. Jim Gordon is the Director of the Center for Mind Body Medicine. He will demonstrate practical strategies parents can use to help their children in dealing and coping with distress. 

Dr. David Schonfeld is the Director at the National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Schonfeld will answer questions from parents about how to promote recovery and access additional support for those in need. 

Attendees on Wednesday are encouraged to bring questions and concerns they have or issues they are currently experiencing at home. The event is free and will be held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Westglades Middle School. For more information, please visit the Broward County Public Schools website.
