PARKLAND, FL- The Broward County Public School District has acknowledged the concerns of citizens of Broward County after the public was shut out of meetings that were ultimately canceled with Superintendent Runcie in January. BCPS has scheduled a district-wide town hall style meeting that is open to the public. The BCPS Town Hall will be held at J.P. Taravella High School on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.  Superintendent Runcie and School Board members will be present. Safe Havens International, the District's independent security and risk assessment consultant, will also be present to provide updated information regarding school safety. There will be a chance for public input and questions. Newest School Board Member and Parkland resident Lori Alhadeff is encouraging participation and speaking up at the BCPS Town Hall. "Your voice is your power!" says Alhadeff. Audience members wishing to speak will need to sign up at the event.
