PARKLAND, FL-  U.S. News & World Report released their updated 2020 list of the top high schools in America. Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was ranked 87th in the State of Florida and number 1,543 nationally, which places it in the top 10% in America. Four high schools in Broward County were ranked in the top five: Pompnao Beach High School, William T. McFatter Technical High School, Cypress Bay High School, and Sheridan Technical High School.

According to the BCPS news release, the U.S. News & World Report evaluated over 24,000 public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. 18,000 of the high schools were ranked on  six factors: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance and graduation rate.
