PARKLAND, FL- As Hurricane Dorian slowly churns its way toward Florida, most residents on the east coast of the state are in "hurricane preparation" mode. From stocking up on food and water to attaching hurricane shutters to finding sandbags, the area is alive with activity in anticipation of weathering the storm.

We at TAPinto Parkland care not only for the safety and well being of Florida, but for our home community of Parkland. TAPinto Parkland will be doing its very best to gather and share Parkland-specific information during the storm. If you are part of a communication group or network in the Parkland area and would like to share updates, we'd love to hear from you. The best way to get information updated and released immediately is to contact editor Gina Pfingsten via TAPinto email at gpfingsten@tapinto.net . We will also be checking and following Facebook and Twitter feeds, so feel free to reach out and send us any relevant storm updates as you have them.

For the many people that are new to Florida and the Parkland community, included in this article is a Florida State Emergency Response Team Disaster Supply Kit Checklist.
