PARKLAND, FL- A juvenile panther was seen roaming around a Parkland neighborhood earlier today.  Neighbors became concerned for area pets and contacted the Broward Sheriff’s Office.  BSO contacted Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission who were able to tranquilize and capture the panther.  According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the panther was transported safely to a rehab facility where it will be checked out. The panther was wearing a collar. If the panther is legally owned, it will be returned to its owner.  If not, the panther will be released in the wild. The panther is Florida’s state animal but sightings are rare making today’s sighting in Parkland really unique.
