PARKLAND, FL- The Greater Broward Chapter of The Pap Corps will hold their charity “Welcome Back” event on Friday, September 13th at The Country Club of Coral Springs. This coed evening, will accommodate more than 100 guests from the Coral Springs/Parkland area for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and to discuss the upcoming fundraising programs for 2019/2020. The Greater Broward Chapter currently has more than 300 members and is expanding in the Parkland/Coral Springs/Coconut Creek area. The Pap Corps is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) Corporation with over 20,000 members and 53 chapters throughout Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties. Its mission is to raise money for ground-breaking cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and South Florida's only university-based cancer center. 

Since its inception in 1952, The Pap Corps has donated more than 50 million dollars in seed money for UM's researchers and physicians and is the largest grassroots organization in the United States dedicated solely to funding research for all types of cancers.

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is now South Florida’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI) Designated Cancer Center. They are one of 2 in the state and one of 70 nationally. This is the highest federal rating a cancer center can receive. Patients can now participate in NCI clinical trials and have access to innovative cancer treatments and they will receive more research grants from NCI.
