PARKLAND, FL- Kids Care Club, the local high school led community service group, is organizing a Mother’s Day event for local women in need. Co-Presidents of the Kids Care Club, Charlie Khalil and Alexa Teo are putting together tote bags that will be donated to Women in Distress of Broward County and to homeless mothers served by Hope South Florida.

Kids Care Club is looking for student volunteers to help assemble the tote bags that will be given to mothers in need. Items such as deodorant, razing, shaving cream, toothpaste, nail polish, lip balm, etc., will be included in the totes. Charlie and Alexa will provide the spring-themed bags. As the bags are assembled and turned in, an inspirational card will be added to the kit that is especially for mothers on Mother’s Day, focusing on their personal value and worth on such a celebratory day.

Students participating will receive 2 hours per completed bag. Complete bags are due on or before May 1. Any local students that are interested in assembling tote bags or helping with the project should contact Charlie Khalil and Alexa Teo at or
