PARKLAND, FL- Stoneman Douglas graduate Craig Newman continues the long road to recovery after being the victim of tragedy last month in Coconut Creek. Newman and his girlfriend, Hannah Bonta, were at home with Hannah's mother, Jan Kirkland, when all three were violently attacked. Bonta and Kirkland both lost their lives that night, and Newman continues the long road to recovery after surviving multiple stab wounds from the attacker.

After hearing of the incident and becoming aware of the medical help needed to aid his recovery, family friends of Craig Newman have set up a Go Fund Me account to support him through this tremendously challenging season. Newman has worked for years at Eagles Landing Camps in Coconut Creek and has seen an outpouring of support for his recovery. The life threatening injuries he sustained in the attack required multiple surgeries and will necessitate attention for both mind and body in the coming years. As of this publication, the Go Fund Me account was about $5,000 shy of its initial goal.
