PARKLAND, FL- Work has begun on the construction and installation of traffic lights at the corner of Nob Hill Road and Hillsboro Boulevard. According to the City of Parkland's website, the City provided upfront funding and began the design even before the necessary traffic warrants were met to expedite the process.
The City Commission awarded the contract for installation of the traffic lights on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Broward County has since approved permits for the traffic signal, mast arms were ordered, and site work is underway. The construction of the mass arms and bases began earlier this week with much of the underground work already completed.
The majority of the work is scheduled for the Summer months of 2020 to minimize the traffic impact during school months. The project is expected to be finished by Fall of 2020.
