PARKLAND, FL-- Vice Mayor and entrepreneur Bob Mayersohn announced this morning his reelection campaign for City Commission in District 4.
Mayersohn has served as Commissioner of District 4 since 2016 and Vice Mayor since 2019. In addition to his service on the Commission, Bob currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Broward League of Cities and the Parkland Chamber of Commerce.
“My family and I are proud to call Parkland our home, and I have always strived to give back to our community in good times and bad,” said Mayersohn, a 24-year Parkland resident.
Since moving to Parkland in 1996, Bob has held various community leadership roles, having served as the Chair of the Parkland Education Advisory Board, a member of the City of Parkland Planning and Zoning Advisory Board, and as President of Parkland Buddy Sports.
Bob has been recognized for his work improving the lives of Parkland residents in various capacities. In 2020, he was named a “Home Rule Hero” by the Florida League of Cities for working tirelessly to promote local voices. He has also earned a prestigious 2-1-1 Excellence Award from 211 Broward for his leadership during a time of crisis.
“My experience as a parent, community advocate, and entrepreneur has given me the diverse skill set needed for effective and responsible leadership,” said Bob.
Bob’s campaign will focus on improving public safety, supporting early learning programs for Parkland students, and preserving our community parks and greenways. As Parkland starts to reopen, Mayersohn will continue supporting “Buy Local” initiatives to put small businesses first.
“The COVID-19 crisis has hit our community hard,” he said, “We need trusted leadership to help guide us through these difficult times more than ever.”
