PARKLAND, FL- Simeon Brier has always had a heart for Parkland. He not only grew up in the area, but he and his wife were in two of the first graduating classes at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Brier, a Business Litigation Attorney, is running for Parkland City Commissioner, District 1.

After graduating from Stoneman Douglas, Brier attended Florida State University and then graduated a with a law degree from Nova Southeastern University. Other than his time away at school, Brier has spent the majority of his life in Parkland.

"I've lived and breathed Parkland since I was a kid," says Brier, a husband and father of two daughters.

He and his wife, Theresa, have been significantly involved in the community for years, serving in numerous roles of public service. Theresa works for Congressman Ted Deutch, and Simeon has served with numerous local organizations, including the Coral Springs Museum of Art, Parkland Community Advisory Board, SOS Children's Villages, and more.

"I want to make Parkland a great place for every resident, not just our families. We also have growing populations of other population segments, including an increasing retiree population," shares Brier.

Brier's hope is to build relationships and work across all lines to bring the community together in a healthy way.

"Relationship building and problem solving are my strengths," Brier says. "I have a long history in Parkland an ability to bring people together. I also have great relationships with our elected officials. "

Brier continues the journey of helping and serving his hometown community, and his run for City Commissioner District 1 is another step along his path of dedication to the City of Parkland.

"Our growth has been great, and I want to plan ahead for continued growth into the future," Brier summarizes. "My hope is to preserve the good and make it even better."
