PARKLAND, FL- According to the latest report from the Florida Department of Health, there are 30,174 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1012 deaths in Florida. Parkland has two new cases this week to bring the total number to 23 confirmed cases. Coral Springs has 168 confirmed cases of COVID-19. In all, Broward County has 4431 total cases, the second largest number in the state behind Miami-Dade's 10,588 cases.
Parkland's City Commission has extended the state of local emergency relating to the COVID-19 pandemic until May, 20, 2020.

- Beginning Monday, Broward County school food distribution sites will run from 10 - 1 pm, twice a week – Mondays and Wednesdays – providing families in need with many meals at a time. On Mondays, families will be able to pick up meals for the beginning of the week. On Wednesdays, they will receive meals for the remainder of the week.
- Five schools are offering food distribution: Sawgrass Springs Middle School, Coral Springs Middle School, Coral Springs High School, Parkside Elementary, and J.P. Taravella High School.
