One of the features of the Military Makeover with Montel is the local community of volunteers that rally to help the makeover become a reality. Montel Williams, a highly decorated Naval Officer and longtime talk show personality, hosts the show in a way that supports and builds up the entire community along with the family. It enlists conscientious designers, contractors, landscapers, and other home improvement professionals while transforming the homes and lives of military families across the country.

Military Makeover with Montel is currently looking to add more volunteers to the various jobs each day during the project. The makeover will be from December 2-13, and the Hixon family will be away from the home until the surprise revealing. The show is being filmed by Lifetime Television and will be featured as its own six show season beginning on February 14, 2020.

"This makeover will help make our dreams a reality and it will help honor Chris and our life together while helping us look to the future to make new memories with our families and friends," shares Debbi. "The makeover starts on Monday. I can't even believe it!"
