PARKLAND, FL- Volunteers are a vital component of Parkland Buddy Sports. This year the program includes 8 different sports with 150 players and over 200 volunteers participating. The Parkland Buddy Sports Board recognizes that this impactful program simply could not exist without the help of its volunteers. Throughout the years, players and volunteers have been equally impacted by Parkland Buddy Sports. Scholarships have been established for Parkland Buddy Sports volunteers and players as a tribute to those making a difference in the lives of others.
“Volunteers are the backbone of Parkland Buddy Sports. We value their commitment to our motto of “NO LIMITS” during their time of service with us and are confident they will continue to advocate for the abilities of those with disabilities in their communities beyond their high school years,” stated the Parkland Buddy Sports Board.
Five Volunteer Scholarships are available for graduating senior volunteers for 2019 who plan to pursue a 2 or 4 year degree. Students may apply for more than one scholarship but only one scholarship per person will be awarded.
Parkland Buddy Sports also has a player scholarship available. This scholarship will be awarded to an athlete entering transition services (age 14) and beyond to assist with continuing education.
