PARKLAND, FL- Parkland Softball has successfully completed its inaugural season. The recreational league has been a hit with local families, as around 100 girls ages 5-12 participated on ten different teams during the spring season. The community's positive response has led to opening the first fall softball season as well, with registration now open.
"Our goal for this season is to continue to expose our children to the sport and allow them a place to have fun, enjoy the game and learn teamwork," says league manager Meena Hierholzer.
Parkland Softball is busy this summer with camps, practices, and clinics for the players. They also plan to work with the Stoneman Douglas softball team to hold clinics that help develop local players. The goal for the 2020 spring season will be to increase the number of players towards 150.
