PARKLAND, FL- Tuesday was Senior Night for the Stoneman Douglas Boys Basketball Team. Joshua Ruiz is this year's lone senior, but his presence and leadership was felt by the entire time. Ruiz led the Eagles with a game-high 26 points in securing MSD's fourth win of the season, this time over Everglades High School of Miramar. The Eagles led 32-21 at the half and cruised to the 68-55 home win.

Bradley Golub added 14 points in the victory. Golub, a junior, has been appreciative of Ruiz all season.

"Josh plays with heart and passion which inspires the entire team.  He is always there to give us words of encouragement if we are having a tough game.  We will miss his leadership next year," Golub said about senior Ruiz.

Stoneman Douglas plays Cardinal Gibbons Thursday night at home before traveling to Cooper City on Friday.
