PARKLAND, FL- The Stoneman Douglas Girls Volleyball Team turned in a huge performance on Wednesday evening. The 3rd seeded Eagles were battling 2nd seeded Spanish River at a neutral site District Semifinal matchup in Boca Raton.

The higher seeded Sharks from Spanish River jumped out to a 2 set lead on the Eagles. Stoneman Douglas narrowly held on in sets 3 and 4 before handing Spanish River a 15-11 defeat in the fifth set. The win propels Douglas into the District Finals against the winner of the Boca Raton vs. Monarch match that was also being played Wednesday evening. The District Final will be held Thursday, October 17, at 7 p.m.
