PARKLAND, FL- The Stoneman Douglas Eagles won their first varsity football game of the season Friday night in Orlando, Florida. It was an away game, and they beat Colonial High School 38-34. The Eagles led at halftime 21-14 and held on for the win. 

MSD will face Westwood High School from Fort Pierce on Friday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. at home. Westwood lost their first game of the season on Thursday to Centennial (Port St. Lucie, Florida) 25-7. Douglas begins its District 13 play against Coral Springs High School at home on September 20. The Eagles are coached by Quentin Short.
