PARSIPPANY, NJ – Another week, another win. 

The Parsippany Hills High School football team improved to 4-0 on the season after a major 28-21 victory at River Dell this past Friday night. 

In a battle of unbeaten teams, the Vikings rallied after trailing 14-0 at halftime. They outscored River Dell 28-7 in the second half, including 13-0 in the third quarter.

Ridge transfer Chris Evans was extremely efficient for Par Hills once again, completing 19 of 31 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns. 

His top target was Rutgers commit Jordan Thompson, who made five receptions for 87 yards and caught a 9-yard TD pass.

Jacob Smith was another Viking who made a tremendous impact. In addition to his 7-yard TD reception, Smith had a 41-yard interception return that gave Par Hills a 28-14 lead. 

James Garcia scored on a 2-yard run for the Vikings. He finished with 34 yards on the ground. 

Thompson, Garcia and Andrew Thomas had 10 tackles apiece. Ty Sallie converted a two-point conversion for the 4-0 Vikings. 

River Dell quarterback Christian Hay threw two touchdowns, both to Cole Zaccaro. Zaccaro made five receptions for 80 yards. Mike Mellet carried 20 times for 75 yards and found the end zone from three yards out for River Dell.

The Vikings return to action against Morris Hills on Oct. 30 in a battle of undefeated teams. Morris Hills is coming off a win over Mendham.
