PARSIPPANY, NJ -- The Parsippany Hills High School sports teams are through two
weeks of the fall season. Let’s take a look back at how the Vikings competed over the
week.
Boys Soccer
Parsippany Hills had a 4-0 shutout of Pope John on Sept. 13. The Vikings held a 22-4
advantage in shots and Juan Restrepo found the back of the net twice. Byron Astimbay
and Athan Ladas scored goals and Irfan Kermalli, Angel Rodriguez and Aidan Zitelli had
assists.
The Vikings fell to Morris Hills, 3-2, in overtime on Sept. 15. Scoring goals for the
Vikings were Awais Zubair and Restrepo, while Zitelli and Rodriguez had assists. Goalie
Corey Katzenberger made 10 saves.
Par Hills (3-2) dropped a 3-1 game to Sparta on Sept. 18.
Field Hockey
Parsippany Hills (1-5) suffered losses to Wallkill Valley, Mountain Lakes, Whippany
Park and Pequannock over the week.
Girls Soccer
Par Hills defeated Morris Hills, 3-1, on Sept. 13. The Vikings put in two goals in the first
half. Nerina SanMartin, Sam Kievit and Kyra Stansgaard scored goals, Gabby Gilgorri
had two assists and goalie Reagan Mofatt made six saves for Parsippany Hills.
The team followed up with a 2-0 shutout of Pope John on Sept. 15. Gilgorri scored and
had an assist and Sarah Costanza also found the back of the net. Mofatt tallied eight
saves.
The Vikings (3-2) fell to Chatham, 4-2, on Sept. 18. Gilgorri and Kyra Stansgaard put in
goals, Jessica Cerrato had an assist and Mofatt finished with 12 saves.
Girls Tennis
The Vikings (2-1) cruised past Roxbury, 5-0, on Sept. 12. Par Hills dropped a 4-1 match
to Madison on Sept. 13.
Girls Volleyball
Following losses to Chatham and Pope John, Parsippany Hills (2-4) had its first wins of
the season, in victories over Morris Tech and St. Elizabeth.
