PARSIPPANY, NJ - Vin Scaglia scored on a 3-yard run with 3:42 left to give West Essex a 24-21 football victory over Parsippany Hills on Saturday.

West Essex (5-1), which handed Parsippany Hills (5-1) its first loss, preserved the victory with a goal-line stand, stopping Par Hills on the 1-yard line as time ran out.

Junior quarterback Zach Lemanski passed for 135 yards and a touchdown (a 26-yard pass to Vince Scaglia in the second quarter) and fullback Anthony Sangillo added 123 yards rushing on 21 carries and scored on an 18-yard run in the first quarter. Lemanski completed 10 of 13 passes. Scaglia carried 11 times for 49 yards.

On defense, the Knights were led by Carmen Cucuzza, who had two of the team's five sacks against Par Hills. Dorian Gashi made 12 tackles and a sack, and Will Perez was in on 11 tackles.
