PARSIPPANY, NJ - Parsippany's own Nick Capone, won Rachel Ray's Cook your Way to Culinary School Competition!
Nick is a student at Morris County Vocational School and was one of four finalists invited to go one the show and compete. There were thousands of applicants that Nick beat out for one of the top spots. The grand prize was a $25,000 scholarship plus $500 of Rachel Ray cookware.
The applicants were a mix of high school juniors or seniors ready to pursue their education in the food service or restaurant-related fields. The were required to submit a video of themselves creating an original recipe dish and explaining why they felt they should win the scholarship (and it had to be 5 minutes or less!).
The final challenge was to create a burger in 20 minutes. The burgers were judged on on taste, presentation and creativity. Nick's winning burger was a Gorgonzola-Infused Pork Slider With a Cauliflower Bun. Yum!
