Girls on the Run 5K Your Way

Girls on the Run NJ East has gone virtual this spring, and will celebrate the resiliency of our girls and volunteers with a FREE 5K Your Way - anytime, anyplace, on Saturday, June 6 or Sunday, June 7.

Everyone in our community is welcome to register, so get ready to run, walk, skip, bike or roll 5K, or any distance you choose, to show girls of all ages that their goals are still achievable.

If you aren’t ready to MOVE the distance, GOTR will provide some fun, physical challenges to try instead. This family-friendly event encourages kids and parents to get active in whatever space you have available.

Visit to register for this FREE community event, and receive a downloadable race-day bib, activity card and training plan. Participation is free, however, donations are welcome to support GOTRNJ-East’s scholarship fund, which helps make our program accessible to all girls, regardless of their ability to pay the program fees.

What is a Virtual 5K (3.1 miles)?

This is a fun run to complete with your family on June 6 or 7. You choose the time and place, following social distancing guidelines, and run, walk, or stroll at your pace. Try your own neighborhood or a local park. Don’t worry about how far or fast you go!

What if I’m not Ready to Run 5K?

No problem! We teach our girls to find their happy pace and keep moving forward. Instead of running, you can choose to complete a Girls on the Run Physical Activity Card (to be shared after registering). These fun challenges celebrate the joy of movement and highlight some lessons girls learn throughout our program. Aim to complete as many as you can!

About Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a national, physical activity-based, positive youth development program for 3rd - 8th grade girls. Participants develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care, create positive connections with peers and adults and make a meaningful contribution to community and society. Each session is led by trained volunteer coaches who guide and mentor the girls. The ten-week program concludes with all participants completing a celebratory 5K event, which gives them a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Girls on the Run has served more than 1.7 million girls since its inception in 1996.

My Country is One of Love, Unity and Equality

July 10, 2020

My Country.

Ladies, gentlemen, friends, and family:

I came upon this July 4th, this Independence Day with a heavy heart. I looked around my country that I thought I loved and cherished and I saw brokenness, hurting, disunity, and unloving all around. I saw people who would rather distinguish each other on skin color over character, physical geography over personal experience, and appearance ...

Joey Bella Memorial Fund, Inc. On-Line Fundraiser

Under normal circumstances, today and tomorrow the JBMF Board members and volunteers would be working very hard to set-up our annual events.  We would be anxiously and excitedly awaiting your arrival under the big tent, and we would be enjoying the best two nights of the year as we danced, laughed, and raised money for families in need.

However, as you know, due to ...

There is nothing more important to an honest representative democracy than protecting the legitimacy of our elections. You not only have the right to vote, you have the right to know as a legal voter that your vote will be counted and that those who are not permitted to vote, are prohibited from doing so.

Over the past few years in the U.S there has been a tremendous push for mail in voting.
