PARSIPPANY, NJ - Bob Garcia, a veteran business teacher at the Parsippany-Troy Hills school district who is married to a fellow educator and is the father of two teenage sons, has taken on a giant task in an effort to feed the hungry neighbors in town.

"My family and I have been fortunate to continue to work during this lockdown, but we know there are so many people who have lost their jobs, their income, their livelihood and are struggling to put food on the table. So many of my own students and their families have been affected and I want to help.", Bob said on his GoFundMe site.

His goal is to raise $2,500 by June 20th for the Parsippany Food Bank.  His initial plan was to do so by walking 30 miles per week until Friday, June 20th.  But that has recently changed since he walked 61 miles last week.

His new, updated goal is to walk at least 50 miles next week.  On June 12th he and his wife will be walking to the Parsippany Food Pantry in Lake Hiawatha from their home in Rockaway township.

The Parsippany food pantry is in need of donations. He has personally committed to donating $1 for every mile walked as of April 28th.
