PARSIPPANY, NJ – With the passing of former President George H.W. Bush, the flags have been ordered to half-mast.  In addition, President Donald Trump has declared that Wednesday, December 5, will be a National Day of Mourning.

In response to the National Day of Mourning, the Postal Service issued a statement.  “Out of respect for the 41st President of the United States and to honor his vast contributions to our country during his lifetime, and consistent with the Presidential Proclamation, the United States Postal Service will suspend regular mail deliveries, retail services and administrative office activity on Dec. 5.”

Parsippany residents may still receive packages as part of a limited delivery operation, but the town post offices themselves will be closed for the day.
