PARSIPPANY, NJ - Long time Parsippany resident Vinny Schindel got a big surprise on Sunday, May 4th when nearly seventy cars and several fire trucks paraded around his culdesac for his 83rd birthday!

His daughter and granddaughter planned the event, sending the invitation around to Parsippany residents.  Their thought was since the beloved father and grandfather couldn't be with his family for his real birthday celebration, a parade might make his day.  The coronavirus has canceled birthdays, weddings and milestone events across the globe.

His granddaughter also asked for parade goers to bring a non-perishable food item for a collection to support St. Peter's food pantry.

Mr. Schindel is a Veteran and an active community leader.
