PARSIPPANY, NJ - The Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department issued the following news release to the chemical exposure at Glacier Hills Pool story earlier reported by TAPinto.
On 9:21 a.m. on 7/24/20 the Parsippany – Troy Hills Police Department responded to a Hazardous Materials incident at the Glacier Hills Association Pool located at 7 Forum Ct. within the Glacier Hills Section of town. Approximately 27 individuals were at the pool, most of which were children attending swimming lessons when they were exposed to a vapor cloud caused by a mixture of pool chemicals. The preliminary investigation seems to have resulted in the chemical mixture being Chlorine and Muriatic Acid. 4 children and 1 adult were transported to the Morristown Medical Center for respiratory distress and approximately 18 others are being treated on scene.
Parsippany Police along with Morris County HazMat, Morris County EMS, Parsippany EMS, Saint Clare’s Hospital EMS and Fire Districts 1 and 5 responded to the scene which is currently under investigation. The surrounding community is not in danger or at risk of exposure.
