MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - A dead body was found earlier this morning near the Whippany River in Morris Township.  Some sources say it is a man from Morristown who has been missing for a few weeks. Here is the news release distributed from the Morris County Prosecutor's office:

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Acting Chief of Investigations Chris Kimker, and Chief Mark DiCarlo of the Morris Township Police Department announce an investigation into a deceased person found in Morris Township, New Jersey.       

On November 26, 2019, law enforcement received information regarding a deceased male in a wooded area near 25 Lindsley Drive, Morris Township.  Investigation confirmed that a deceased male’s body was located in the woods. The cause and manner of death are pending and the investigation remains ongoing.  The identity of the individual will not be released at this time.
