PARSIPPANY, NJ - Rescue workers and the fire department spent a good amount of time today at a sewage treatment plant at 1139 Edwards Road in Parsippany. It is reported that nearly 300 gallons of peracetic acid leaked out inside the facility causing two people to go to the emergency room. Peracetic acid is a component of antimicrobial washes for poultry carcasses and fruit
They contained the leak and did air quality montioring and tried to collect the product that was spilled all over the ground. The DEP was notified.
