PARSIPPANY – The Parsippany High School football team saw its historic season come to an end Friday night in a 26-7 loss to Lyndhurst in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 final.

Second-seeded Parsippany ended its season with a 10-2 record following the loss to top-seeded Lyndhurst. 

Lyndhurst captured its first sectional title since 1983, and will meet Verona in the North, Group 2 title game at MetLife Stadium.

Parsippany’s lone touchdown came in the second quarter on a 78-yard kickoff return from Nana Agyemang. 

With over 2,000 people on hand at Lyndhurst, the Golden Bears improved to 11-0 behind the play of running back Piotr Partlya, who scored on a pair of runs and threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to John Rodriguez. 

After each team fumbled to start the game, Partyla gave Lyndhurt a 7-0 lead with 4:35 left in the first quarter following an 8-yard run. 

Lyndhurst took a 14-0 lead on a 23-yard run from Partyla. 

The Golden Bears led 20-0 with 5:44 remaining in the half on the TD pass from Partyla to Rodriguez. 

Quarterback Anthony Lembo scored on a 9-yard keeper to give Parsippany a 26-7 lead with 9:35 remaining. 

Parsippany finishes with double-digit wins two years after a winless season.
