PARSIPPANY, NJ – It was a successful start to the shortened season for the Parsippany Hills High School football team Friday night, as it shut out visiting Mendham 21-0.
The Vikings scored a touchdown in the first, second and third quarter. It started with quarterback Chris Evans connecting with Ty Sallie on a 9-yard touchdown pass.
Dominick Verducci scored on a 4-yard run that gave Par Hills a 14-0 advantage. Verducci then caught a 14-yard TD pass from Evans in the third quarter.
Evans, a senior, finished 18-of-27 for 152 yards and the two scores. He threw one interception.
Verducci was efficient on the ground, finishing with 97 yards on 22 carries with the score.
Sallie made 10 catches for 85 yards and the TD, and Rutgers commit Jordan Thompson made three receptions for 31 yards.
On defense, Thompson made nine tackles, Sallie forced a fumble, Andrew Thomas recovered a fumble, Chris Dogbe had a sack and Tyler Arnold and Jack Bellardino finished with interceptions.
Parsippany Hills will stay at home for a matchup with High Point Friday night.
