PARSIPPANY – The Parsippany High School football team went on the road and defeated Boonton, 28-18, in an NJSFC American Blue contest Friday night. 

The win improved Parsippany to 6-1 overall. The Redhawks have now won six games in a row and haven’t lost since Sept. 6. 

Parsippany scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Boonton led 6-0 after a 35-yard punt return by Jordan DeCosta. Nana Agyemang then gave Parsippany a 7-6 lead on a 55-yard run. 

Boonton retook the lead after Danny Portas scored on a 5-yard run. The two-point try was unsuccessful and the Bombers led 12-7. 

Parsippany’s James Riedinger scored on a 9-yard run and the Redhawks had a 14-12 advantage at halftime. 

Boonton went ahead in the third quarter after Portas found Corey Dempster on a 51-yard TD pass. The two-point conversion failed and the Bombers led 18-14. 

Parsippany went ahead in the fourth quarter after Agyemang caught a 13-yard TD pass from Riedinger, making it 21-18. The Redhawks rounded out the scoring on a 10-yard run by Anthony Colasuonno. 

Parsippany will look to have a perfect October when it travels to Whippany Park on Oct. 25.
