Parsippany led 2-1 after Wednesday’s play with two flights needing to finish.

Par Hills rallied for the 3-2 victory behind a sweep at doubles.

At first singles, Parsippany’s Purvi Ranade defeated Par Hills’ Elise Parisi, 6-2, 6-3.

At second singles, the Vikings’ Danielle Pettoni defeated Julia Vincent, 7-5, 6-1. At third singles, the Redhawks’ Riya Nayini defeated Hyun-Jung Kim, 6-3, 6-2.

The doubles spots lifted Par Hills to victory. At first doubles, Abby Lee and Arohi Birari beat Anjali Shah and Sanjana Sure, 6-2, 6-2.

The second doubles flight went the distance. Par Hills’ Keya Dhruve and Saoumyaa Jatkar rallied to defeat Mikaela Kadian/Pranati Katta, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5).

Par Hills will play top-seeded Summit in the sectional quarterfinals.

Pettoni qualified for the state singles tournament and plays Clearview’s Carlee Cristella in the first round on Saturday. If Pettoni were to win, she would play third-seeded Daria Smetannakov of Red Bank Catholic in the second round.

“Danielle qualifying for the prestigious state singles tournament as a freshman is an outstanding accomplishment,” said Parsippany Hills head coach David Bongiovanni. “It says a lot about her ability and her tenacity. She is one of the most tough-minded players I have coached.”
