PARSIPPANY – Survive and advance is the name of the game at this point of the season. 

The second-seeded Parsippany High School football team did just that Friday night, getting past seventh-seeded High Point, 12-6, in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 playoffs. 

The teams were scoreless through three quarters before Parsippany scored one extra touchdown in the fourth for the victory.

Parsippany, now winners of nine in a row, meets third-seeded Mountain Lakes in the sectional semifinals at home on Nov. 15. 

Mountain Lakes defeated sixth-seeded Hawthorne, 14-7, in the first round. 

Parsippany met Mountain Lakes on Oct. 11, with the Redhawks prevailing 13-7.
