PARSIPPANY – The Parsippany High School football team won its third straight game on Saturday by defeating Wallkill Valley on the road, 17-0.
The Redhawks improved to 3-1 on the season behind the shutout. Parsippany handed Wallkill Valley its first loss of the season.
Quarterback James Riedinger scored on a 5-yard run, Anthony LaPresti found the end zone from a yard out and Campbell Pivnick scored on a 33-yard field goal for Parsippany.
Riedinger finished 7-for-9 for 64 yards. He finished with 37 yards on the ground on 14 carries. Lapresti added 34 yards on the ground on 15 rushes.
Alex Picinich made two receptions for 32 yards.
Wallkill Valley quarterback Tommy Testino finished 4-for-16 for 44 yards and six interceptions.
“The defense came to play yesterday,” said Parsippany head coach Jason Hurta. “Six interceptions on the day. Alex Picinich had three interceptions and a forced fumble. Anthony Colasuonno, Dom Stull and Joe Riedinger each had one”
Michael Marucci had a sack for Parsippany.
Ben Mizeski ran for 111 yards on 16 carries for Wallkill Valley.
Parsippany will look for its fourth win in a row when it hosts Kittatinny (3-1) on Oct. 4.
