PARSIPPANY, NJ - The Parsippany Hills Vikings were defeated by West Morris Central for their last game of the season. At 9-10 for the season, the Vikings took on West Morris Central before preparing themselves for the upcoming state tournament.
The game was highlighted by a 4th inning score by JD Breslauer. Breslauer made it to home plate after a big hit that sent him to second base. However, they couldn’t defeat West Morris Central’s offense. West Morris scored right back in the top of the 5th to make it 3-1.
In the last inning, Par Hills made one last run when Corey Katzenberger took matters into his own hands to get the bases loaded. The Vikings scored for the last time before the game ended, making it 3-2.
Head Coach, Peter Anzelone, said that the team is focused now on the state tournament. The Vikings will take on Ramapo on Monday.
“That’s all that’s left now, so we are focused on that and need to get the first win on Monday,” Anzelone said. “We will be playing a good Ramapo team, but we have a really good squad. We are a really tight group, and we are going to have Casey (Gorczyca) out on the mound who can do it for us out there.”
This once “young” team has now grown into a team with 10 seniors. They are looking to win a state championship before their high school baseball careers end.
Anzelone said they will take on Ramapo the same way they’ve taken on every team they’ve played against.
