PARSIPPANY – The Parsippany Hills High School football team picked up a 49-7 victory over Madison at home Friday night, improving to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the North Jersey Super Football Conference American White standings.
Par Hills has now won three straight games.
The Vikings broke the game open with a 28-point second quarter to take a 35-0 lead at halftime.
“We hit some big plays early in man-to-man type coverage,” said Parsippany Hills head coach David Albano. “The defense did what it has been doing, creating some turnovers and some three-and-outs. We were able to complete the ball and set up our run game.”
Quarterback JD Breslauer went 13-for-20 for 334 yards and five touchdowns for the Vikings.
A ton of players made contributions for Par Hills. EJ Comerford made four catches, three going for TDs, and he racked up 148 receiving yards. Dennis Wilson hauled in two TD catches and made four receptions for 100 yards.
Dominick Verducci found the end zone on a 17-yard run and he finished with 111 yards on 10 carries.
Roger Rubinetti was good on all seven PAT attempts and Alan Copeland had an interception for the Vikings.
Par Hills hits the road for a meeting with Chatham on Oct. 19. As the defending division champions, the Vikings now are on the brink of another championship.
“After we were 1-2 it was conference play,” Albano said. “We’re one win away from defending our title. The number one goal is to win your conference. We put ourselves in a position. Chatham is a very good team. Any time you play for a championship or win a championship, it’s not easy. We’re going in there with a winner-take-all kind of thing, so we’re excited about it.”
