PARSIPPANY – The third-seeded Parsippany Hills High School football team is back in a sectional final.

The Vikings got some revenge in the process. 

Third-seeded Parsippany Hills avenged an early-season loss by taking down second-seeded River Dell on the road, 24-14, in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 playoffs on Nov. 15.

Par Hills lost by six points to River Dell on Sept. 13. 

In the rematch, the Vikings, which improved to 9-2 and have now won eight in a row, had a solid showing against a tough River Dell team. 

Quarterback JD Breslauer connected with Ty Sallie on a 63-yard touchdown pass, Brandon Perot took a fumble return 22 yards for a score, kicker Roger Rubinetti made a 15-yard field goal and Dominick Verducci found the end zone on a 10-yard run. 

Breslauer finished 13-of-23 for 227 yards. Verducci carried the ball 20 times for 77 yards. 

Sallie made three catches for 90 yards, EJ Comerford had six receptions for 68 yards and Dennis Wilson made three catches for 51 yards. David Giraldo had an interception for the Vikings. 

Parsippany Hills will meet an opponent it has already seen for the third week in a row. The Vikings take on fourth-seeded West Essex at home for the North 2, Group 3 title on Friday night.
