Both of these boys originally hail from Puerto Rico. Benji, a 9 month-old Bearded Collie mix, is a sweet, quiet guy who only wants to make someone happy. Pauly, a 2 year-old Terrier/Hound mix is a bit more gregarious. They get along well with other dogs and they love people. Either will make a nice addition to any family.  Check our Petfinder page to see more adoptables. Meet some of them on Saturdays at the Petco, 1 Rt. 46 west, Totowa, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. If interested in adopting from Angels for Animals Network, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group, or meeting a particular animal, text Gizela at 201-655-5059 or visit

The Paterson Pound can also be considered a dumping ground. It’s a one-way street - unless a rescue steps up to rescue, it’s the end for the cats that enter. Dante and his sisters Danique and Dariya deserved so much more. Kittens this friendly and loving deserve a home and just as much as they give. They are now safe under the FOWA foster umbrella. They were born around May 30, are negative for FIV/FeLV and had age-appropriate vaccinations. They spend their days playing just like all kitties should.

Bart is an adorable 8-9 week old puppy who is about 8 pounds and had his first puppy vaccine. He and his siblings came to FOWA Rescue's care. We are not sure of the father's background, or how big he will get, but we know he is a spaniel mixed breed. It will be his new family's responsibility to continue with his puppy vaccines and send us proof of neuter when age appropriate. Bart is very curious and the mischievous one in the group.

FOWA Rescue can be reached at or 973-902-7515. All animals are up to date with shots and altered, and cats are tested FIV and leukemia.  See for information on all the dogs and cats in FOWA’s care.
