Adopt a Pet

Ernie is a happy-go-lucky, eight month-old Hound mix rescued from Alabama. He is ready for anything. Meet super-sweet, Everly. She is a very special 2 and a half year-old Terrier/Whippet mix from Puerto Rico. We think she looks like a giant Chihuhua with those ears. Everly is 25 pounds of pure joy. She loves to give hugs and is always happy no matter what the situation. Both love other dogs and would be excellent with children. Check our Petfinder page to see more adoptables. Meet some of them on Saturdays at the Petco, 1 Route 46 west in Totowa, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. If interested in adopting from Angels for Animals Network, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group, or meeting a particular animal, call or text Gizela at 201-655-5059 or visit

No one will ever know why little Dexter was found all alone, wandering the streets of Wayne, but we do know that he now has a bright future. This little cuddlebug was brought to FOWA and a foster home made room for him. Now that the snow has begun to fall, his little paws will never again have to make a path through the snow trying to find food and shelter. He is a gorgeous silver tabby, born mid-August.

Ginger Snap can steal your heart. As she has settled into our foster program, she is doing great. Ginger Snap is housebroken, loving, playful, and super sweet. She has a lot of energy, very smart and trainable and treat and toy motivated. Ginger Snap needs lots of exercise and things to do as she is very agile. She will thrive in an active family with kids (preferably over 5). She'd be a great companion for a hiker too perhaps.

FOWA Rescue can be reached at or 973-902-7515. All animals are up to date with shots and altered, and cats are tested FIV and leukemia.  See for information on all the dogs and cats in FOWA’s care.

Adopt A Pet

Lex and Lena are a brother and sister duo that were brought inside in the dead of winter. Born in October 2017, the pair took some time to adjust to indoor life. They absolutely love being petted and will immediately start to purr once the initial “hiss” hello has passed. Both enjoy crazy playtime and enjoy feeding time even more. Lex, an adorable tuxedo, has become quite ...
