Adopt A Pet

Born in April 2017, Tom and his sister, Geri, were found on the side of a busy highway when they were kittens. Now the pair absolutely love the home life. They are fostered with dogs, birds and other cats, and are excellent with them all. This pair can be adopted together or separately. They are very affectionate and loving and enjoy sitting on the couch with you while you watch television. Tom and Geri are vaccinated, altered, FeLV/FIV tested negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Tom and/or Geri, complete the pre-adoption application at or call Genea at S.T.A.R.T. at 973-785-1245.

Chicklet is as sweet as they come. She had a wonderful home, but sadly her heartbroken parents had to make the tough choice to give her a chance at a new family. Though they love her, they know she's such a wonderful girl that she'll find a new family in no time. Meet her once and you'll fall in love!

Uncle Phil makes us so proud with how far he's come! He was a hissy, scared little boy who would shrink back in his cage whenever anyone came near. Now, he loves being held and pet and purrs the day away!

The Alan Purcell Wayne Animal Shelter is located at 201 Pompton Plains Crossroad, Wayne. Adoption hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 12 to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Call 973-694 -0767 or visit All animals are up to date with shots, altered, and cats are tested FIV and leukemia.

To Our Current and Future Representatives - Wherever They May Be:

We can never forget we are a nation of immigrants.

We cannot fall prey to fear, ignorance and anger when we  have been historically driven by freedom and justice.

We must have the courage and will to fight hate, bigotry and prejudice.

We must not wake up to what we hoped was a bad dream and ...
