Meet two of our smaller breed dogs. Both of these 2 year-olds hail from Puerto Rico. Zeus is a well-mannered Lhasa Apso mix and Val is a Maltese/Terrier mix who loves to be the center of attention. Check our Petfinder page to see more adoptables. Meet some of them on Saturdays at the Petco, 1 Route 46 west in Totowa, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. If interested in adopting from Angels for Animals Network, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group, or meeting a particular animal, call or text Gizela at 201-655-5059 or visit

Star is a feral cat who gave birth to her three kittens just one day prior to one of the March Nor’easters. With a panic call to FOWA Rescue, the caretaker asked if we could help since she was afraid of what would happen to them with the impending storm. FOWA raced into action and scooped up mom and her kittens, who are now in FOWA’s foster care. Sherlock is a cute buff male, Sirius is a little black female and Snuggles is a gray and white male. The kittens were born March 12. Only one word can describe them now - loveable. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an online application.

Zane is adorable, cute, spunky and playful. He is about 16 weeks and doing great in foster. He is playful with the other dogs and loving to his family. Zane is learning his manners and house breaking but of course puppies are work but we know he is so worth it and will be a wonderful dog.

FOWA Rescue can be reached at or 973-902-7515. All animals are up to date with shots and altered, and cats are tested FIV and leukemia.  See for information on all the dogs and cats in FOWA’s care.
