PATERSON, NJ - Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald have confirmed the arrest of an East Orange man in connection with the murder of Petra Rhoden, 43.

As previously reported, Rhoden was making a delivery for the app food service Door Dash on Friday, October 4 in the area of 259 Harrison Street at approximately 10:22 p.m. when she was shot, causing her to crash through a fence and strike a shed. Rhoden died from her wounds a short time later at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.

In a Wednesday statement officials revealed that a preliminary investigation has shown that Rhoden was approached by a male while she was outside of her car and shot from behind. The shooter is said to have gotten back into the passenger seat of a nearby vehicle and subsequently fled the scene.
