WOODLAND PARK, NJ - A team of students and staff members from Berkeley College worked to clean up a local park as part of the school's annual Community Service Week.
A team of volunteers, which included the college's Chairman of the Board, Kevin Luing, performed several tasks at Zaccaria Park on Rifle Camp Road on May 24. They stained parking lot fences, cleaned up litter and picked up twigs and branches throughout the park.
Each year, Berkeley Cares provides thousands of hands-on volunteer hours in the areas of food, health, shelter and student success. During Community Service Week – the largest initiative of Berkeley Cares – Berkeley College staff, faculty, students and alumni pledged more than 2,000 hours to 48 non-profits and community organizations in New Jersey and New York. This year's Community Service Week was the week of May 20 to May 25.
“Thank you to all Berkeley faculty, staff, students and alumni who helped make an important contribution to organizations that serve our communities,” Michael J. Smith, president of Berkeley College, posted on the college's social media accounts at the conclusion of the week.
