Boys Ice Hockey: Passaic Valley/Cedar Grove Advances to Big North Bronze Championship Game

WAYNE, NJ - Passaic Valley/Cedar Grove skated past Ramsey 3-2  at the Ice Vault on Tuesday to advance to the Big North Bronze Conference championship game.  

After a scoreless first period, the Hornets' Kyle McCarthy found the back of the net assisted by Vincent DiNardo with 11:30 left in the second. Ramsey struck hard in the third with goals from Joe Koons and Dan Halik to give the Rams the lead. PV/CG answered on a power play with less than eight minutes left in the game when Nick LoPresti scored with help from Joe Kubu and Dan Lapinski.  Alex LoPresti's short-handed goal gave the Hornets the win with under two minutes left in the game.

Nicolas DiNardo had 25 saves in the net for the Hornets.

PV/CG will take on the winner of Wednesday's Ramapo/Paramus game in the championship on Friday at 6:45  p.m. at the Ice Vault.
