TOTOWA, NJ - Washington Park School in the Totowa School District recently held its 16th annual Eighth Grade Fashion Show at the Brownstone, located in Paterson. Approximately 86 eighth grade students participated modeling fashions from local formal attire businesses.
Students modeled apparel from sponsors who donated fashions for the event, such as Robert's Tuxedos in Totowa, and David's Bridal in Totowa, Tina's Bridal in Totowa, Group USA in Secaucus, Park Avenue Bridals in Cedar Grove, BouBou Dresses in Paramus, and Century 21 in Paramus.
"Approximately 300 guests were in attendance for the dinner and the show. The theme of the evening was 'Masquerade," said Suzanne Siok, administrative assistant, curriculum and instruction.
Washington Park's School teacher Matt Carl provided music during dinner and the show, Siok added. Gift prizes were raffled off and there was a 50/50 drawing at the conclusion of the show.
"The money raised totaled $6,725 from this annual event, which will go towards purchasing the graduation gowns for the eighth grade students and also offset the students' cost for the yearbooks," she noted.
