LITTLE FALLS, NJ - Chris Munson, an alumni of Passaic Valley High School, is battling Dedifferentiated Chondrosarcoma, which is an extremely rare type of bone cancer.

His friends and family are hosting a fundraiser at the Russian Hall on April 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and include free draft beer from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., a dinner buffet, beer pong and flip cup tournaments, a 50/50 and a tricky tray.

Funds raised by the event will be used to cover Chris' medical bills and any money that is left over he plans on donating. The tickets come in a bracelet form that says “Cause for a Ruckus,” as Ruckus is Chris' nickname.

The fundraiser is being organized by Leigh and Ed Slattery, Juliana Estrella, Zack Borden, and Rachel Calhoun.

When looking for a hall where they could plan the event, they asked what the capacity was and the owners informed them the maximum was 200 people. The owners then said that they wouldn’t end up having 200 people in which Boarden asked, “Do you know Munson?" In the first 24 hours of creating the event, they had almost 200 people RSVP’ing “yes” on the event Facebook page.

“He is the most loyal person ever," Borden said. "It is so easy to come together for him, because he would do anything for us, or even anyone he didn’t know.”

Donations of  items to be raffled off at the event are being sought. To make a donation, email
